The USS Genesis is a Saber-class starship and is a heavily armed Starfleet vessel with a limited-role. The Saber Class starships were developed in response to the Borg threat as originally encountered in 2365, and spurred on by the shocking results of the Battle of Wolf 359 in 2367. With the knowledge that existing Starfleet weaponry and defenses would be inadequate to meet this threat, it was recognized that a new type of starship was needed to meet the tactical requirements of facing this superior enemy. The USS Genesis was built and launched from the Antares Fleet Yards in 2378.

We are an internet correspondence chapter of STARFLEET: the International Star Trek Fan Association representing Region 11. Our Akira Class Battle cruiser the USS Southern Cross (NCC 63550) is home to a truly international crew primarily representing Australia and New Zealand. Our members enjoy all varieties of sci fi from a broad range of genres and we welcome input from any interested persons who may wish to join our group.

The USS Orion Star is the first and currently only Starfleet correspondence chapter based within Australia. We are a Sovereign class starship.
As well as our love for all things science fiction most of the current members also have a love of gameing, especially the Xbox 360 which has become our main form of communications, but by no means is this our only form of communications.
